What to Expect During the Exam

During the exam, you will be expected to demonstrate your knowledge of the rules of the road, as well as your ability to drive safely. However, before the exam even begins, the examiner will ask you to demonstrate that your vehicle is in working order by turning on the headlights, testing the turn signals, and other functions. Once you have proved that the vehicle is in working order and you know how to adjust your mirrors and put on your seatbelt, the test will begin.

Specific Skills

During your driving exam, you will need to exhibit certain skills in order to prove to your examiner that you know how to drive safely. Some of these skills include:

  • Coming to a complete stop
  • Signaling
  • Braking
  • Backing up
  • Parallel parking

You will practice all of these skills during your behind-the-wheel training in order to prepare you for the final exam.

Behind-The-Wheel

The most important way to prepare for your driver’s test is to take driving lessons behind the wheel and to practice your skills for as many hours as possible before the exam.
